The updated NY Child Abuse requirements focus on prevention through education and awareness. Mandated reporters are required to attend an updated training focusing on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), implicit bias, trauma, and specific guidance for identifying abuse in children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. NY law requires every person who has previously undergone this training to undergo the new updated training by November 17, 2026. The new training provides additional resources to ensure appropriate identification and interventions are swift and effective.

- Mandated to complete New York State Child Abuse training, or
- School personnel Required to complete the Child Abuse Addendum training by November 17, 2026, and have not completed the previous Child Abuse update with us. (The updated addendum is incorporated into this training.)
- Hold a license or certification from the NYS Office of Professions and completed the previous Child Abuse update between Nov. 1, 2022 and Aug. 21, 2025.
- Successfully completed the 2-hour training with us prior to September 1, 2025, and need to complete the updated Child Abuse training by November 17, 2026, for NYS Office of Teaching Initiatives.
- Any New York mandated reporter required to complete the latest child Abuse update by November 17, 2026.
